Apple MacBook Pro M4 leaked just before the expected October event

Posted on

As the rumours suggest, Apple is planning for an event by the end of October to unveil the MacBook 4 lineup and some other products. As of now, there is no official announcement from Apple about the event. The predictions are made based on the order of events happened in the previous years. If the rumours are correct, the highlight of this event should be the MacBook Pro series updated with the M4 chip. Apple last updated its MacBook Pro lineup with the M3 chip in October 2023. This was just 9 months after the release of M2. The M3 upgrade was not that significant as there was not much performance improvement from M2.

M4 is a significant upgrade especially in terms of performance. Adding fuel to this, there are several posts popping in the social media platform which reveals some new information. Initially, these leaks were considered as fake. As more and more information coming out, it is adding more weightage to the authenticity of the leak. If this information is authentic, it could be a second big leak in Apple history in the last decade.

The first leak suggests that the new base variant will be shipped with 16 GB of RAM. This will be great news for those who are looking to buy the base variant, as the previous base variant was shipped with just 8GB. This was a much-needed upgrade, as now a days most of the high-end laptops come with 16 GB.

The second leak indicates the base version now comes with Space Black too. Previously it was limited to Pro and Max versions. Apple introduced the Space black colour to its MacBook lineup a couple of years ago by replacing the midnight grey.

The third leak hints that new entry level MacBook Pro M4 supports 2 external displays with the lid open. Currently the entry level M3 MacBook Pro supports only one external display with the lid open.
